Congressional Debate (Grades 3-5)
Dates: Jan 13th - Mar 10th (No programming Jan 27th) 10 weeks| Tuesdays 3:15-4:15pm | Fee: $250
Location: JME Library
In this class by Everlove Academy, students will roleplay as Senators in Congress where they will debate legislation. Students will research and write their own bills and resolutions. They will
develop, organize, and deliver speeches to support or oppose them, ask questions, and vote
– just like real members of Congress. By the end of the class, the students will not only
develop key skills in debate, but they will have a greater understanding of the role of
Congress.
